Fireworks in Lake Lure

July 3: Independence Day Celebration

By land, this long-time annual fireworks display can be seen from two ideal spots:

  • Gorgeous Morse Park Meadows
  • The public beach at Lake Lure

Viewing the fireworks by boat near Marina Bay is also a wonderful treat.

The fireworks are sponsored by the Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge, the Town of Lake Lure, and Chimney Rock Village,

The beach opens for public viewing at 8 p.m, with the fireworks getting underway at dusk.

Visitors are encouraged to come early to enjoy the area's dining, shopping, parks and water-based activities.  Or, pack a picnic, snacks drinks, chairs and blankets to make a day of it at the beach and in Morse Park.  Leashed and well-behaved dogs are welcome in the park.

Sorry, but no alcohol is allowed anywhere on public property, including the beach. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars well within walking distance of the park and beach.

July 4: Independence Day Celebration at Rumbling Bald Resort

Lake Lure's Rumbling Bald Resort also boasts a beautiful fireworks show starting at 9:30 pm. And while beach access is only open to resort guests and residents, public boat viewing of the fireworks display is a beautiful - and popular - way to see a great show.

Call the Rutherford County Welcome Center in Lake Lure at 828-287-6113 to inquire about how you can rent a boat or take advantage of the local boat tours to see these fireworks.
