This department is responsible for but not limited to lake enforcement and patrols, public liaison, all boat permitting, emergency response, fisheries management, Dredging, Commercial activities and special events, water quality and testing. Buoy placement and replacement.
The lake is also patrolled by the Lake Lure police and NC Wild Life.
