Nov. 10th Update: Fire at Party Rock

Nov. 10 - Lake Lure, (1:50 pm) As of today, the fire is at 885 acres and 15 percent contained. There have been no further evacuations and all structures still remain protected.
The fire is still moving in a north, northwesterly direction but is burning on both sides of Rumbling Bald Mountain. Combined with extremely dry conditions, wind is still an issue for those fighting the fire. Air crews are still conducting air and retardant drops.
To date, the map of standby notifications for potential evacuations has not changed since the fire broke out on Nov. 5th. That map is available here:
We've also created a list of resources so that you can make sure you are subscribed for all notifications surrounding this incident. You can view that here:
Of the limited evacuations that have taken place, the evacuation order stands until we hear otherwise from local fire crews and the NC Forest Service.
