Behind all this Beauty .......

The open spaces, parks and recreational areas in Lake Lure look as though they are an inherent  part of the nature that surrounds us. That is the intention, but behind that seamless appearance exists the Park & Recreation Department for the town. The department maintains several public parks, miles of green space, walkways and several facilities that provide resources for a range of activities.

The goal of the Lake Lure Parks & Recreation Department is to improve the quality of life for all residents and visitors by effectively maintaining and enhancing a variety of leisure and recreational amenities. These include active and passive, structured and unstructured recreational opportunities that encourage health, fitness, relaxation and enjoyment as well as a broad appreciation for our diverse community and the unique natural systems that we share. Our purpose is to work cooperatively with other departments and the town-appointed Parks & Recreation Board to continually improve recreational opportunities for everyone in the community.
