Chimney Rock State Park is located within Hickory Nut Gorge immediately adjacent to the Lake Lure Town Center and is partly within town limits. The State of North Carolina Division of Parks and Recreation operates this outstanding jewel of a park. It is a world-class destination park located on the eastern escarpment of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is comprised of notable landscapes and significant ecological resources. The park will eventually have additional comprehensive trail systems to access waterfalls, monolithic rock formations, and beautiful natural areas with breathtaking vistas.
