Come help us celebrate Mother Earth during our three-hour event, which will include informational tables for adults and children on beneficial insects, invasive plants, native plants, climate change, nature discovery, composting and recycling. Children's activities will include scavenger hunts and nature games, take-home art activities, story time, visits with puppets, Granny Gardener and her dog Daisy, and much more.

  • This event is FREE!
  • Parking at the Bridge is limited, but additional parking is available at the Lake Lure Welcome Center and in Morse Park.
  • Bring the whole family and take a picture at our special photo spot.
  • We'll have plant and gift sales!

Earth Day is an annual global event including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The theme for this year is Planet vs Plastics, a call for action demanding a 60% reduction in the production of plastics by 2040 and an ultimate goal of building a plastic-free future for generations to come. Find more information here.
