Boater Safety Test Instructions and Information

 

The Town of lake Lure has developed an online Boater Safety Test.  Please allow time for the course to populate at the bottom of this page.  You may obtain an electronic copy of the test by calling the Parks, Recreation, and Lake Department at 828-625-9983 x 505 or emailing the department to obtain a copy. 

You may also stop by any of the locations listed below during regular business hours to take the Boater Safety Course and Test.

1) Parks, Recreation, and Lake Department Office:

    Boat Permits Available: All Boat Permits are available for purchase, including Commercial Boat Permits.  

    Note: If you are purchasing a Residential Boat Permit, please bring in proof of residency, a deed, or bill with your name and address. 

    Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday from 8 am to 12 pm, 1 pm to 5 pm (closed 12 -1 pm for lunch)

2) Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure Cabana

     Phone: 828-694-3000 (dial 9 for the Cabana) 

     Address: 112 Mountain Blvd., Lake Lure, NC 28746         

     Boat Permits Available: Boat Permits are available for purchase, except Commercial Boat Permits

      Note: If you are purchasing a Residential Boat Permit, please bring in proof of residency, a deed, or bill with your name and address. 

     Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday from 8:30 to 5 pm

3) Washburn Marina through Lake Lure Tours:

     Address: 2930 Memorial Highway, Lake Lure, NC 28746

     Boat Permits Available: Boat Permits available for purchase, except Residential or Commercial Boat Permits

     Hours of Operation: Hours vary with the season. Please call 828-625-1373 to check current hours of operation.

IMPORTANT: Once you successfully pass the Boater Safety Test, you will receive an email confirmation with your passing score.  You will need to show this email confirmation when you apply for your 2023 Boat Permit.
