  2. Pay Your Utility Bill by Credit Card
    For your convenience, you may pay for your utility bills with a credit card by using the button below or by phone at 828.625.9983, press zero, or extension 106.
    Note that credit card payments are one-time payments and the credit card company charges a 3% fee (or a minimum of $2) per payment.
  3. Mail in Your Payment

    You may mail your payments to the Town of Lake Lure, PO Box 255, Lake Lure, NC 28745.
    Payments must be postmarked by the due date to avoid a late fee.

  4. Pay In-Person

    You may pay in person at Town Hall Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm.  

Important Notes

  • Water and sewer bills are sent out by the 10th of the month.
  • Payment is due by the 25th of each month.
  • Payments made by mail must be postmarked by the 25th of the month to avoid a late fee. If the 25th of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, then payment will not be due until the following business day.
  • Payments made in person must be in the Lake Lure Municipal Center/Town Hall by the close of business on the 25th of the month.
  •  The actual due date is indicated on your utility bill. 
  •  If payment is not received by the 25th, a delinquency notice will be mailed.
  • The penalty for delinquencies is a $25 fee added to the past-due balance. This penalty may be waived by the town manager not more than once per year due to extenuating circumstances preventing the prompt payment of a utility bill. To receive a waiver, the customer must submit a request in writing explaining the extenuating circumstances within 30 days of the date the payment was due. 
  • If you would like to dispute the accuracy of your bill, you may stop into Town Hall or send in a letter. 

Water/Sewer Service Disconnection:

  • If payment is not made within ten days of a delinquency notice, then service will be discontinued and a $200 re-connection fee will be assessed.
  • Both the past due charges and the re-connection fee must be paid in full to continue the service. 
  • Additionally, the Town will place liens on the property involved if the delinquency extends beyond 90 days in which the customer will be charged for any legal fees associated with this action. 

Lake Lure Sewer System:

  • Customers of the sewer system are reminded that it is unlawful to discharge surface water or roof drainage  into the sewer line. It is critical that this type of water flow cease since excess water in the system causes the filtration process to malfunction.
  • When selling a home, water and sewer customers are responsible for notifying the Town of the new owner’s name and address.

Need to transfer water/sewer service?

  • If you need to transfer water and/or sewer service for a home/ business that you have purchased, you will need to complete the Utility Agreement Application Form and submit this to the Town of Lake Lure along with a copy of the driver’s license of anyone listed on the account.  The mailing address for the Town is PO Box 255, Lake Lure, NC 28746, or the physical address is 2948 Memorial Highway if you prefer to drop off your application.   If you would like to sign up for Auto Draft at this time please fill out the form located here and return as mentioned above along with a ‘voided’ check.
  • If you are transferring service for a property located inside the Rumbling Bald Resort or in the immediate vicinity outside of the Resort you will need to call 800-525-7990, as they have their own water / sewer system in that area.  If you are not sure which system your property would fall under, you may call 828-625-9983, x 106.  Please note that there is a $20 transfer fee for the Town accounts which will be added to the first utility bill.
