One Step Closer - Lake Lure's Phase Two of the Lake Reopening Process

Town Council approved “Phase Two” of the Lake Lure Reopening Process. The following are the Phase Two guidelines:

  • The Washburn Marina ramp will be open to permitted motorized vessels effective Saturday, 5/16/26.
  • Temporary towing restrictions are lifted under existing Lake Use Regulations.
  • Follow Boat Permit Requirements and Lake Use Regulations closely ensuring that all drivers have their boat license.
  • The Pool Creek Picnic Park ramp for non-motorized vessels will remain open.

Note that construction is ongoing in Morse Park and at the Washburn Marina.

  • Town officials had hoped to complete the work to install the fuel pump and stationary dock areas prior to Memorial Day; however, delays in delivery of decking materials have impacted the construction schedule.
  • Completion is now anticipated in early to mid-June.

Please proceed with caution when using the lake. The Town encourages all those using the lake to operate at their own risk due to ongoing recovery conditions and potential hazards. 

Town staff will continue monitoring conditions and coordinating with public safety partners.
