One hundred years ago, the completion of the Lake Lure Dam forever transformed Hickory Nut Gorge, creating one of North Carolina's most treasured destinations, Lake Lure.
Join the Town of Lake Lure as we commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the completion of the Lake Lure Dam—a remarkable engineering achievement that has stood strong for a century, including its resilience through Hurricane Helene.

Dam Christening Ceremony (At the Lake Lure Dam)
- Mayor and Town Commissioners commemorate the Dam's centennial with a special christening ceremony.
