Celebrating the Rumble 2026 – March 6-8, 2026
Mayor Carol Pritchett welcomed the climbers back for the 10th Annual Rumble. She extended a heartfelt Thank You to the Carolina Climbers Coalition for organizing the event.
This gathering is especially meaningful this year. After the challenges our community faced following Hurricane Helene, there were moments when many of our parks and trails looked very different from the places we all know and love.
But the climbers showed up and demonstrated the very best of community. Members of the Carolina Climbers Coalition and volunteers from across the region have gave more than 10,000 hours of service helping restore trails, care for our parks, and bring these outdoor spaces back to life.
That kind of commitment says something powerful about who you the climbers are - stewards of the land and true partners to our town.

Their leadership, along with the efforts of so many volunteers, has helped guide an extraordinary restoration effort and made the return of the Rumble possible.
Because of the volunteer efforts, people can once again hike our trails, explore the cliffs, and experience the natural beauty that makes Lake Lure so special.
The efforts of the Carolina Climbers Coalition has helped ensure that our landscape will continue to inspire future generations of adventurers.
This weekend, we celebrated more than just the 10th Annual Rumble. We celebrated resilience. We celebrated partnership. And we celebrated the incredible community that forms when people who love the outdoors come together to protect it.
To everyone who traveled to Lake Lure, to the volunteers, organizers, and members of the Carolina Climbers Coalition – THANK YOU for standing with Lake Lure, for believing in this place, and for coming back!
