Fire on Shumont Mountain

Lake Lure Fire Department is actively providing mutual aid in response to the woods fire threatening structures atop Shumont Mountain. At this time, the majority of the fire activity is located in Buncombe County.

Please keep all residents, first responders, and agencies involved in your thoughts and prayers as they work diligently to protect lives, property, and our surrounding communities.
