Giving Tuesday - Feed the Children Program - Lake Lure Classical Academy

Giving Tuesday is an annual global generosity movement that takes place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, encouraging people to give back to their communities. It is an opportunity to support charities, nonprofits, and community causes through donations or volunteering, and it marks the start of the year-end giving season.
Here’s an excellent opportunity to give locally by supporting the children at Lake Lure Classical Academy (LLCA). LLCA is a charter school and does not receive funding for facilities like public schools do. Unfortunately, the school has no cafeteria.
LLCA has been working to find a way to provide hot meals to students. They have launched the “Feed the Children” program, serving hot, nutritious lunches three days a week from a stationary food truck on campus. The goal is to expand these hot meals five days a week, rather than just three days.
A generous anonymous donor learned about this opportunity to help feed the children and stepped up with a $25,000 matching gift. The matching gift means that for every dollar given before 12/30/25, it is instantly doubled. This would make the goal of providing hot meals five days a week within reach so no child will be trying to learn on an empty stomach.
Your gift is fully tax-deductible and, right now, has double the power to grow this program and feed more kids, more often. Please see the attached flyer for additional details.
If you’re planning year-end giving, please consider helping “Feed the Children” at LLCA. Together we can make a difference in these students lives and in their future.
