The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Georgia, western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.The Town of Lake Lure, NC is closely monitoring the storm and will provide updates on things as they progress. Please take proactive action on protecting personal property.

DAY ONE: Today and tonight. Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN: Thursday through Tuesday.

Tropical Storm Nicole will bring heavy rainfall and gusty winds Thursday night into Friday night. The highest rainfall amounts look to fall along the Blue Ridge Escarpment and could range from 3.5 to 4.5 inches. The rest of the area could see rainfall amounts from 2 to 2.5 inches. Locally higher rainfall amounts will be possible. This could lead to the potential for isolated flash flooding, especially along the Blue Ridge Escarpment and in urban areas. Stay updated with the latest forecast information regarding Nicole over the next few days as any adjustments made to the track will change the impacts we see locally.
