Lake Lure Cell Tower Update

The Town of Lake Lure, NC has been working to install a cell tower on the old camp ground off Boys Camp Road. Our Community Development Team has been diligent in their efforts to work through multiple challenges, including delays caused by Hurricane Helene. Thanks to their persistence, we are pleased to report that the cell tower has arrived! You can see the tower here!

- The crew worked to finish the antenna placement on 3/6/26.

- They ran the fiber lines and a new crew arrived 3/7/26 to connect the fiber.

- We have been advised that it will take about a week to calibrate and go live!

The antenna tower belongs to Tillman Construction and they market and lease the up to three antenna positions on the tower to cell service companies.

- AT&T and T-Mobile have leased space.

- Verizon was projected to sign on as the third carrier but as of this date, they have not committed to doing so, despite follow up requests.
