LAKE LURE, N.C. (WLOS) — A symbol of recovery emerged on the shores of Lake Lure with the partial reopening of Morse Park this weekend.
The eastern section of the park has been revitalized with new grass, freshly planted flowers and trees lining the walkway to the lakeside gazebo.
The lake itself remains drained as crews work to remove storm debris, silt and sedimentation left by Hurricane Helene seven months ago.
