Updates on Refilling Lake Lure

The Lake Lure lake level is currently about 15 feet below full pond. The Town of Lake Lure, NC is pleased to report that the project to replace the seals on the Tainter gates at the Lake Lure Dam is going well and is currently on schedule.  The plan is to maintain the lake at the current level for the completion of this project. The project is expected to be completed in February 2026.

Once the project is finalized, Town Officials will begin refilling the Lake.  We hope to reopen fir the season in May 2026. We are getting close and will provide updates as new information becomes available.  

Town officials continue to work to finalize the contract for shoreline debris removal through the SMART Program.  Town crews will also make rounds to assistant with debris removal after the lake is back at full pond as they have in the past.
