Lake Lure's No Wake Restriction Lifted
Effective Saturday, May 9th, the Town of Lake Lure will lift the lake-wide no wake restriction. This change reflects the continued progress of North Carolina State Mission Assigned Recovery Task (SMART) Program operations, which are now wrapping up, as well as positive feedback the Town has received regarding current lake conditions and safety.
This change applies only to the temporary lake-wide restriction. All permanently designated no wake areas remain in full effect and must continue to be observed at all times in accordance with Town ordinance.
Boaters are expected to continue operating in a safe and responsible manner at all times. Conditions on the lake may still vary, and all users should remain alert, maintain a heightened level of caution, and be prepared for changing conditions.
All other aspects of the Phase One Soft Opening remain unchanged.
Town Council will review staff recommendations for the next phase of reopening at the regular Town Council meeting on May 12, 2026 at 5:00 PM.
As a reminder, please join us for a Ceremony Announcing Reopening Dates for Lake Lure on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 11:00 at the Lake Lure Gazebo.
