TOWN COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING

Town of Lake Lure

The Lake Lure Town Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., or shortly thereafter, at 920 Buffalo Creek Road, Lake Lure, NC 28746, to receive public comment on proposed Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) applications through the Renew NC Community Infrastructure Program.

The proposed applications are intended to support Hurricane Helene disaster recovery, restoration of critical community infrastructure, and resilience improvements to reduce future disaster risk. Projects under consideration include: (1) replacement and resilience improvements for the wastewater treatment plant; (2) restoration and resilience improvements to eligible public service and community infrastructure components of the Lake Lure Municipal Center; and (3) replacement and resilience improvements for the Lake Lure Dam tainter gates.

The purpose of the public hearing is to provide residents and interested parties an opportunity to comment on the proposed CDBG-DR applications, community needs, disaster recovery impacts, and potential benefits to low- and moderate-income persons and other affected residents.

The public is invited to attend and provide comments. Written comments may be submitted between the publication of this notice and 24 hours prior to the scheduled hearing to Town Clerk Kimberly Martin at 920 Buffalo Creek Road, Lake Lure, NC 28746, or by email at kmartin@townoflakelure.com.
