Town Hall Restoration Begins
The Town of Lake Lure is pleased to announce that the first steps toward restoring Town Hall are beginning this week. This marks another important step forward in Lake Lure’s ongoing recovery and restoration following Hurricane Helene.
The Town has been working through the necessary processes and requirements for the restoration of the historic Town Hall building. These required steps had to be completed before restoration work could move forward.
The Town’s goal is to restore the building and return Town Hall to this location at 2948 Memorial Highway in 2027. In the meantime, Town Hall will continue to operate from The Landings, 920 Buffalo Creek Road, Lake Lure, NC 28746.
Morse Park Improvements
The portion of Morse Park adjacent to Town Hall is also slated for site restoration in the coming weeks. The Town is working with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to obtain the necessary permit before this work begins.
Once the permit is approved, grading will begin to establish proper drainage to ensure stabilization.
Each of these projects represents another step in restoring and renewing our community.
Lake Lure continues to move forward—one project, one improvement, and one step at a time and we appreciate the community's support.
