Crews continue to monitor Lake Levels.
- Due to heavy rain Tuesday and more rain expected today, Lake Lure is releasing additional water from the dam.
- The lake is at full pond level, and the dam gates are currently above 3 feet.
- Sirens have been activated downstream from the dam to Rock Springs Church Road.
- Lake Lure has notified all campgrounds of the potential flood risk. No evacuations are needed at this time.
- Stay alert and watch for further updates.

LAKE LEVEL UPDATE 9/23/26 4:30 PM
Following the overnight rainfall, Lake Lure’s water level has returned to normal levels at 990.51 Mean Sea Level (MSL). (Full pond is 990.5 MSL)
Town staff continue to monitor weather conditions and lake levels closely. Water levels will be adjusted as needed based on rainfall and changing conditions.
We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue to monitor conditions and protect the lake and the surrounding community.
