The Town of Lake Lure is thrilled to welcome back the Carolina Climbers' Coalition for the 10th Annual Rumble at Rumbling Bald!
Climbers from across the Southeast will gather March 6–8, 2026 for an unforgettable weekend of competition, camaraderie, and celebration — all in support of climbing access and stewardship in the Carolinas. We anticipate welcoming 250–300 climbers and their families to Lake Lure for this milestone event.
What to Expect
The Rumble is one of the only outdoor ropes and bouldering competitions on the East Coast, offering something for everyone — from first-time competitors to seasoned crushers.
Participants can look forward to:
- Diverse climbing categories across multiple disciplines
- Incredible sponsor prizes
- A welcoming and community-focused atmosphere
- Stunning climbing at Rumbling Bald
A Rumble Festival will take place at the Green Space on Saturday, March 7, featuring community gathering, celebration, and event activities. Rumble campers will also utilize the Green Space throughout the weekend with special permission.

The Rumble isn’t just about competition, it’s about community.
This annual event celebrates the CCC’s access and stewardship efforts at Rumbling Bald while raising essential funds to protect and maintain climbing areas throughout the Carolinas. Every registration helps ensure these climbing resources remain accessible for future generations.
