A Premier Training Destination for Collegiate Rowing
Collegiate rowing teams consistently choose Lake Lure as a premier training destination thanks to our mild winter and early spring temperatures, calm waters with minimal boat traffic, and the lake’s full three-mile length—ideal for sustained, high-quality practices.
Local rowers enjoy Lake Lure year-round during the early morning hours, and from February through early April, the lake becomes a seasonal home for collegiate programs conducting their annual training camps. This combination of natural beauty, reliable conditions, and rowing-friendly access makes Lake Lure an exceptional environment for athletes and coaches alike.
